JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of management, performs specific operational responsibilities for the Cleveland Clinic and its Hospitals. These responsibilities include: Preparing price quotes/package pricing for upcoming visits. Pursuing self pay and past-due patient balances -- pre and post service. Collection of deposits, deductibles and co-pays including prompt pay discounts as they may apply. administering the Financial Assistance policy. Facilitates processes for patients pending Medicaid eligibility determination. Performs financial clearance and insurance pre-screening to make appropriate recommendations for point of service patients. Resolves financial/billing related issues that are presented by CCF patients. Participates in the development of new policies and procedures, including assurance of regulatory compliance. Ability to handle a large volume of incoming/outgoing patient phone calls in addition to patient complaints. Performs other duties as assigned Providing outstanding customer service

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Previous healthcare collection experience preferred. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills. In depth knowledge of patient accounts management including collections, auditing, financial counseling, reimbursement techniques of third-party payor and managed care programs. Knowledge of CPI/ICD9 coding preferable. Strong problem solving skills required to coordinate multiple resources. PC knowledge; familiarity with Siemens Signature, Invision, HBO Star and Medipac billing systems preferable.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years collection related experience including bank, finance company or in a health care institution. Experience with medical insurance claims helpful. An Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field may substitute for up to one year of the stated experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field may substitute for up to two years of stated experience.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands: Normal physical demands include dexterity sufficient to operate CRT/PC and other office equipment. Requires the ability to sit and be stationary for prolonged periods of time and walking to various locations to attend meetings; normal or corrected vision.
