Job Details:
Summary: Performs various technologist-level ergonomic, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, safety, fire protection and/or radiation safety tasks under appropriate guidance.
Job Responsibilities: Assists with performing workplace surveys, evaluations and safety inspections of various areas/facilities, including radiation safety audits. Assists with the collection, inventory and processing of hazardous waste. Collects and analyzes workplace and environmental samples. Prepares samples for shipment to vendors. Delivers, installs and maintains/calibrates various equipment including the testing, inspection and maintenance of fire safety equipment and systems. Assists with training programs. Responds to complaints and emergencies. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate's Degree in Environmental Health Safety Technology (or equivalent college coursework) required. Bachelor's Degree or two years of environmental health and safety related experience preferred.
Experience: Minimum two years environmental health and safety related experience.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid Ohio Driver’s license (VDL) and eligibility of insurability as determined by the Cleveland Clinic’s insurance carriers’ requirements to operate Foundation vehicles.
Physical Requirements: Ability to wear protective equipment such as respirators, boots, gloves and protective eye-wear. Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs and elevated platforms. Ability to walk extensively. Full body motion including ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 400 pounds utilizing material handling equipment. Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs and elevated platforms. Ability to wear protective equipment such as respirators, boots, gloves and protective eye-wear. Position requires visual acuity with ability to smell, taste and hear.
