Summary: Responsible for all technical aspects of studio operation and setup and will play a key role in the continuing design of technical operations. Operates professional equipment on location or in studio to record and edit medical procedures, media events, and news stories as assigned. Supervises all technical aspects of media production studio and field shoots.

Job Responsibilities: Evaluates, installs, maintains and performs basic repairs of television equipment, including all technical systems, studio equipment and field gear as necessary. Works with the Manager to develop production teams needed for specific tasks, making necessary arrangements for staffing and transmission (including satellite trucks) as required. Serves as liaison for repairs and maintenance with manufacturers and vendors. Supervises CCF staff and freelancers on all technical aspects of studio and remote television production, offering training and assistance with equipment and systems. Creates and maintains appropriate databases and documentation of equipment, systems and remote set ups. Provides appropriate information to Department Coordinators for proper billing. Participates in performance evaluations and hiring process of production and technical staff. Acts as mentor for technical and production staff, providing guidance, assistance and training to more junior staff. Other duties as assigned. Primary responsibility is to oversee maintenance and live productions at the InterContinental Hotel. Coverage would include, day, night, and weekend hours as needed.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, technology, A/V production or related field with TV Broadcast background preferred. Technical Certifications (i.e. FCC, SBE, CTS) in lieu of degree.

Experience: Minimum 8 years experience in a professional television environment installing/operating/repairing television equipment. An additional five years experience and relevant training may substitute for the degree requirement. Strong experience with computers, interactive equipment, computer driven digital and analog production equipment and Power Point required. Strong technical skills and an understanding of current television production demands and the ability to operate industry current television production equipment. Ability to read schematics, follow manufacturers repair manuals and use sophisticated test equipment.

Physical Requirements: Visual and aural acuity, manual dexterity and strength sufficient to operate, repair and transport audiovisual equipment.
