Summary: Under the supervision of an RN performs basic patient care activities.
Job Responsibilities: Assists with procedures ordered by physician and supervised by RN or LPN. Assists patients with tending to personal care, activities of daily living and transfers/transport. Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly. Other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program. STATE TESTED NURSING ASSISTANT OR NURSING STUDENT WITH AT LEAST ONE COMPLETED CLINICAL ASSIGNMENT.
Experience: One year experience as a patient care nursing assistant or medical assistant required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: State licensure if required by state law. BLS Healthcare Provider. Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
