Job Details: - High School Diploma or equivalent Required.
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Sterile Processing Tech II is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following infection control practices. Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital. Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work independently. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Ability to accurately perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet multiple demands. Ability to construct alternative positive problem resolutions. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment used in the department. Knowledgeable with the cleaning and sterilization procedures and techniques. Basic understanding of various functions of the department. Conscientious regard for technical and minute procedures. Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Required Length and Type of Experience Level knowledge normally acquired by the attainment of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to write legibly, read, and comprehend instructions. Must have good telephone etiquette and the ability to follow directions. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and to manage multiple tasks.
Required Licensure, Certification or Registry: Certification required within one year of hire.
