Job Details: - High School Diploma or equivalent Required.

Summary: Monitors and cares for the health and well-being of animals housed in the Biological Resources Unit (BRU).

Job Responsibilities: Performs daily health observations and monitors the condition of research animals. Provides custodial care, fresh feed, and fresh water to animals according to the standard operating procedures. Receives animal shipments and completes required documentation. Ensures that areas used for technical procedures are well maintained and adequately supplied. Transports supplies, equipment, and/or animals to and from various locations. Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Must be willing to be trained to properly handle all species of animals housed within the BRU. Must be enrolled in the Occupational Health Program of the BRU.

Experience: Experience in the custodial care of animals preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must have a valid Ohio Driver's license and safe driving record to drive a Foundation vehicle. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transport supplies, equipment, and/or animals weighing over 50 pounds; frequent standing, bending and walking; must be able to tolerate unpleasant odors, sights, animal bites and scratches. May be required to work with biological, chemical, and radiation hazards after proper training.
