GENERAL SUMMARY

The ACU/ PACU Registered Nurse is an individual skilled in the application of critical care nursing modalities as appropriate for the care of ACU/PACU patients. Participates in assessing patient needs and in planning, implementing and evaluation of nursing care for all classifications of patients including a general population of adolescents; young adults; middle adults and the elderly in the ACU/PACU. Cares for each ACU/PACU patient with knowledge and understanding of specialized needs and potential complications resulting from the administration of anesthesia and the performance of surgical procedures.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum: Florida Nursing License, Current BLS, ACLS provider cards.

Preferred: Membership in ASPAN/FLASPAN preferred.

B. Required Length and Type of Experience

At least two years recent critical are experience, PACU experience preferred.

C. Required Licensure, Certification or Registry

Minimum: Florida Nursing License, Current BLS, ACLS provider cards.

Preferred: Membership in ASPAN/FLASPAN preferred.
