Summary: Supports the creation of data warehouses, Reporting, Dashboards and .NET web applications through the use of SQL databases. Uses SQL to develop, maintain and enhance databases and applications for internal purposes and customer reporting.
Job Responsibilities: Works in a team of software developers, business analysts and database developers responsible for delivery of reporting, dashboards and database/web based applications. Interacts with business units, project managers and leads to determine application and reporting needs. Maintain existing databases and analyze, design, and create of new databases. Establish standards, documentation and best practices for SQL. Guides and coaches developers in SQL scripting. Performs data modeling and database optimization; understand and implement schema. Interpret and write complex SQL queries and stored procedures. Identify, diagnose and resolve database application bottlenecks on production level systems.
Performs quality assurance; configure the application in the test environment, correct of all defects, complete system integration testing to ensure reasonable performance requirements. Proactively monitors systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints. Applies development skills to complete tasks. Completes database schema design, extensive T-SQL development, integration testing to achieve team goals. Performs support, development and administrative activities. This will include periodic pager duty to support department 7x24x365 applications. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field. Combination of education, training or applicable work experience may substitute for degree. Master Degree or Master Degree candidate preferred. Experience: Five years MS SQL Server database experience required. Three years C# and/or asp.NET experience preferred. Programming experience with emphasis on designing complex t-SQL that scale well and are optimized for use in a high volume environment preferred. Experience in the physical and logical design of database architecture preferred. Diverse technology background required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Microsoft Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements: Requires manual dexterity to operate computer. Requires frequent computer entry, walking, standing and sitting.
