Job Details:
Summary: Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
Job Responsibilities: Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats. Investigates and manages all security incidents and hazards on the premises. Maintains knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. Facilitates planned drills and simulations. Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises. Other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of one year prior related experience in the field of criminal justice: private, public, or military security, and/or other related law enforcement fields.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Completion of Ohio Peace Officer (police) training and certification (OPOTA) may be substituted for the above experience. Completion of Ohio Peace Officer Training Council (OPOTC), Private Security Training Course and Certification (minimum 140 hours). Must have firearms certification. Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license (VDL), maintain firearms qualification and maintain eligibility of insurability to operate the organization's vehicles.
Physical Requirements: Typical physical demands require full body mobility, agility, physical strength and stamina sufficient to chase, apprehend and subdue criminal suspects, respond to crisis interventions and medical emergencies. Activities may include, but are not limited to, the following: spontaneous running of approximately 300 meters across variable terrain conditions on an occasional basis; approximately 2 minutes continuous physical conflict on an occasional basis; dragging loads of approximately 200 pounds and lifting loads of approximately 88 pounds on an occasional basis; running up and down approximately 5 flights of stairs on an occasional basis; jumping , climbing and crawling on an occasional basis; standing /walking up to 4 hours without rest, twice during an 8 hour shift; walking approximately 10 miles per shift; driving a vehicle for up to 60 continuous minutes
