Summary: Supervises a team of IT professionals that define, develop, and maintain information systems within Cleveland Clinic while maintaining hands-on responsibility for technology processes and tools. Supervises the technical and administrative functions of an IT Department. Acts as a technical resource for team members. Collaborates to achieve the organizational goals. Implements goals consistent with assigned clinical and non-clinical units. Job Responsibilities: Supervises employees in daily operations. Develops effective teams and is responsible for conducting performance management reviews. Improves or retains employee engagement levels. Maintains staffing levels; approves and schedules paid time off and leave requests. Assists Director or Manager in leading an IT Department's operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources. Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems. Supervises the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals. Other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's Degree. Advanced knowledge of project management practices preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years of strong technical knowledge of common network, server and PC operating systems as well as extensive application support experience with core enterprise/divisional clinical and/or business applications required. Strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills required. Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures. Experience in IT infrastructure planning and development is preferred. Prior supervisory experience in large health care organization is preferred. Additional progressively responsible work experience in IT or related field/industry may offset degree requirement.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Technical certifications in the Customer Relationship Management, Computer Maintenance, Project Management, Information Security, Networking, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications and/or application support domains is preferred.

Physical Requirements: Individual must be able to work in confined spaces. Physical ability to move heavy equipment needed. Individual will, at times, be required to work during off hours. Ability to use telephone, computer and office equipment. Normal/corrected vision and hearing. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor. Physical ability to operate a vehicle and transportation to travel between facilities as needed.
