Job Details:
Summary: The Chaplain Resident is a student in training to become a professional clinical chaplain. The student is in education seminars for 40% of the time and provides pastoral care service to patients for 60% of the time. The student attends expirations as priorities. The student visits patients before and after surgery, and leads worship services. The student covers on-calls and attends codes on behalf of the department.
Job Responsibilities: Attends to the spiritual needs of patients, families and staff. Leads worship services. Counsels employees in distress. Participates on interdisciplinary teams. Provides sacraments as requested. Prepares and conducts memorial services. Writes breavement notes to families. On-call and code response. Other duties as assigned. Education: None
Experience: Twelve months of initial commitment. Licensure/Certification/Registration: None
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push and facilitate movement of the patient. Must have normal or correctable vision and hearing to be able to hear normal conversations.
