Summary: The Development Systems Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of custom applications to support the fundraising team. The position works with the Development Systems team to ensure that all reports meet the needs of requesting users and presents accurate and complete information. In addition, this position will assist in establishing reporting and data analysis standards. Works in conjunction with the director to optimize reports. As part of the systems team, works with current staff to effectively analyze, manage and report from the current fundraising software. The analyst is also responsible for ensuring that new standard reports are subject to appropriate testing by users and application development staff.
Job Responsibilities: Provides specifications to systems team for generation of reports using system templates and tools. Develops mechanisms for accurate and efficient reporting. Generates custom applications and templates. Develops and maintains complete documentation, including narrative descriptions, input/output samples, and instructions for newly developed applications. Investigates and recommends methods to empower users to access and run frequently used reports. Develops complex advancement reports using SQL, Microsoft Office and other utilities or languages as necessary. Works with the Director of Development Systems review and implements functional and delivery timeline requirements in assembling a project team consisting of users and technical staff. Manages project requirements in a team environment to design, implement, test, document and install new reports and applications. Upon completion of each project, ensures all requirements, testing plan, source code, and completion documentation are prepared and appropriately distributed and archived. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related area. Extensive experience with complex databases having financial and demographic content. Advanced knowledge of relational databases, preferably DB2.
Experience: Minimum five years data management Advanced knowledge of relational databases, preferably DB2. Experienced in Microsoft office programs (Access, Excel, Word), SQL and Crystal reports. Additional experience may offset the degree requirement. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Minimum five years data management experience. Additional experience may offset the degree requirement.
Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity to operate office equipment. Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds. Requires extended periods of standing, walking and sitting. Normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
