Job Details:

Summary: Plan, design, monitor and manage the data center facilities infrastructure, including normal and emergency power systems, power distribution systems, rack power systems, cooling systems, fire suppression systems, EPO system, cable management systems, etc. Areas of responsibility include Technology Research, Engineering and Design, Health System Data Center Standards and Project Engineering. As a Data Center Engineer, this position is also responsible for providing direction and enforcement of data center standards throughout the enterprise. Set examples in work ethics, teamwork and quality of work.

Job Responsibilities: Perform research and provide input to management related to new and emerging power and cooling technologies. Provides project-engineering input to Consultants, ITD Technology departments, Operations Administration, and contractors. Assists the Health System Data Center Manager in setting department goals & objectives. Participate in vendor training and product presentations. Acts as the focal point for the Health System Data Centers regarding space, power, cooling and other related infrastructure. Other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Five years experience in Mission Critical Engineering and Maintenance functions with at least two years of lead project supervision. Ten years of progressively increasing responsibilities in facilities engineering/maintenance of mission critical type facilities with at least two years of lead project supervision experience may be substituted for a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Facilities Engineer with some IT experience
* Medium to low voltage switching gear knowledge
* building automation systems (SCADA)
* Ability to travel to travel between facilities as needed

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Applicable certifications within healthcare, facilities management and manufacturer's certifications are preferred.

Physical Requirements: Individual must be able to work in confined spaces. Physical ability to move heavy equipment as needed. Individual will, at times, be required to work during off hours. Ability to use telephone, computer and office equipment. Normal/corrected vision and hearing Maintain professional appearance and demeanor. Physical ability to operate a vehicle and transportation to travel between facilities as needed.
