Job Details: Summary: Manages staffing and administration of nursing unit or floor. Establishes the clinical direction for nursing care and provides clincial supervision. Supervises all aspects of personnel management and development. Job Responsibilities: Ensures departmental compliance with regulatory agencies and Joint Commission requirements. Assists with managing, hiring, training, developing and evaluating nursing staff. Identifies and resolves patient care services issues of a unit. Develops and implements policies and procedures to provide effective delivery of health services. Monitors and adheres to annual hospital operating budget. Approves and monitors expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines. Other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing required. Experience: Five years demonstrated clinical proficiency required; two years in ambulatory setting preferred. Minimum of one year supervisory or leadership experience required. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current state licensure as an Registered Nurse (RN). Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion, manual finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires frequent data entry, standing, walking, stooping or sitting. Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision. Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a prodcution rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
